Astronomy Roadshow Observatory Project in Apache County, Arizona, USA
Obtaining daylight images of lightning isn't easy. For my next project in 2020; 3D imaging of lightning.
As the site has such a low horizon, it is a perfect place for the study of storms. A new discovery regarding lightning is that sometimes a massive blue or red coloured spray of electricity is shot almost into space. These are known as Sprites. With a very sensitive camera, it is possible for amateurs to obtain images of such a newly discovered phenomena. July to Mid August is the main storm season.
